My current art practice is a reaction to the beauty and complexities in landscape. I connect with my immediate surroundings and see myself as a curious visitor, following animal trails and old paths.

I create vertical maps of my journeys, noting specific features such as an odd shaped tree or large rock along the trail. This enhances my visual experience and creates triggers to the experience.

In recreating my immediate surroundings in sketches and paintings I am capturing moments without technology in my explorations, rendering my process an authentic, intimate exercise.
